GULF VENTURE CAPITAL ASSOCIATION (GVCA) - Manama, Bahrain

GVCA is a non-profit organization that promotes and facilitates a risk-taking investment culture within the Venture Capital (VC) and Private Equity (PE) industries. GVCA organizes conferences, industry-focused technology forums, training, and workshops to provide members with access to essential information and skills. Additionally, GVCA serves as a learning platform where members can share experiences and discuss issues of common interest.

VC is the equity financing of non-public companies, ranging from small early-stage to large management buy-outs. It is a form of investment that focuses on building businesses. It is divided into four types: seed-stage, startup stage, expansion stage, and replacement capital.

PE is the utilization of equity capital for non-publicly traded entities.

It is used to introduce new products and technologies, expand working capital, make acquisitions, or strengthen a company’s balance sheet. PE investment is a value-added and active strategy.

GVCA’s scope covers a range of aspects of the VC/PE industry, such as trends and strategies, legal/fiscal policies and regulations, investment models, management of fund raising and structures, technology evaluation and valuation, contracts and control rights, information/studies, early-stage funding and corporate venture capital. Members of GVCA include VC/PE companies, corporations, financial institutions, consultants, and technology development organizations.
