They lost my money
The service I got from Al Salam is the worst of any bank I have dealt with, and that is up against some pretty stiff competition.
On many occasions they have stopped my transactions because they said there was 'unusual activity' on my account. This included booking a flight from London to Bahrain, hardly unusual for an ex-pat living in Bahrain. I lost my flight and it took 6 weeks for them to reimburse my money.
However, they did NOT think that 8 payments over a 24 hour period to the Tamil Nadu Electricity Company of Chennai, India, was unusual, despite the fact that the payments, ranging from BD2 to over BD200 amounted to well over BD700.
I filed for retrieval of this of this lost money on 14th June and to date (5th September) I am still waiting for it. On various occasions they have told me the money would be returned in 4 weeks, in 45 days, and in 45 WORKING days so far. All these deadlines have long past and I still don't have my stolen money 12 WEEKS after.
In all that time not ONE of my phone calls has been returned, and not ONE of my requests for updates have been answered, despite promises that they would be. There has been no contact initiated by the bank whatsoever.
The worse service from any industry I have ever received. My advice is to avoid this bank at all costs.
